Major Recent Initiatives / Activities

• Election of new leadership for 2025-2029: The PBA held an Elective General Council Meeting, with representatives from all affiliated divisional boxing associations, coaches, referees/judges commission, and women’s commission. That meeting supervised under Election Commissioner of PBF. The Free Library+1

• Extensive events calendar planned: PBA has mapped out a plan to hold boxing tournaments at multiple levels (club, city, tehsil, district, provincial) to identify talent. Referee and judge training courses / seminars are also part of the plan. The News International

• Trials & representation: Example: Bushra Nazir from Khanewal was selected after trials in Lahore to represent Punjab in National Youth Games 2025. UrduPoint

• Infrastructure development: The Sports Board Punjab plans to construct Pakistan’s largest boxing sports complex in Punjab, to provide advanced facilities to boxers. The News International

• Selection for national games: SBP organized trials for boxing (both men and women) for the upcoming 35th National Games; PBA’s athletes take part in these and PBA works with SBP for selections. The Nation

Challenges / Areas That Need Attention

• Infrastructure: Even though a boxing complex is in planning, many boxers still rely on existing facilities which may lack modern equipment, proper rings, safety gear, etc. The delay in construction of sports complexes has been a recurring issue. The News International

• Visibility / Sponsorship: Boxing is less commercial than some other sports, so obtaining funding/sponsorship consistently can be challenging. PBA has expressed desire to get sponsorships to support promising boxers, scholarships, etc. Peak Point+1

• Regularity of competitions and events in remote/divisional areas may be uneven. Ensuring consistent events calendar across all divisions is important. The News International+1
