National and international Events
- International: World Archery is the international federation that governs the sport globally and was previously known as the FITA (Fédération Internationale de Tir à l’Arc). The International Field Archery Association (IFAA) is another international organization focused on field and 3D archery.
- National: Each country has its own national governing body. For example, the Pakistan Archery Federation is the national body for Pakistan, while Archery GB serves the same function in the UK.
- Regional and local: Many associations operate at a provincial or city level. The Punjab Archery Association is an example of a provincial association in Pakistan that operates under the Pakistan Archery Federation. Types of archery associations
The Role of the ARCHERY Association
- What these associations do
- Promote the sport of archery at all levels, from beginners to professionals.
- Organize and sanction local, national, and international events and competitions.
- Provide coaching and training programs.
- Work to get archery into the Olympics and other major sporting events.
- Develop and implement rules for the sport.
